The Job Journey

Who We Are

For more than six years, The Job Journey Program has been helping hundreds of high school students successfully source for and obtain employment in the “real world.” Both educators and employers prove that The Job Journey has vital and measurable results. Two of those results are:

  • Teachers’surveys show that students who complete The Job Journey Program demonstrate a positive change in behaviors within the scholastic environment, an increase in attendance, improved class participation, positive attitude, and increased creativity.

  • A national fast-food restaurant chain recently opened their first store in the area. They advertised a starting wage that was $1.50/hr higher than the competition. They had 600 applicants the first day. Twenty-four of those were The Job Journey graduates. The company hired thirty crew members. Of the thirty, twenty-four were The Job Journey graduates!

The program works!

As The Job Journey experience continues to evolve and impact the lives of students, the increasing interest of both the educational and business communities has been the impetus to adapt The Job Journey for home study. This has been done. The new program includes:

  • 5 1/2 hours of actual interactive in-class programming on a set of 4 DVDs
  • 150-page hands-on workbook providing student involvement with the DVDs as the lessons progress in
    • understanding the business world
    • building self-confidence
    • employees’accountability
    • setting goals
    • the “how-to's" of sourcing for, interviewing for, and obtaining employment
  • A special introductory DVD from former students that will inspire new users to begin right away

The five and one-half hours of video material, on four DVDs, coupled with the workbook that students actually like to work in, empowers them to look within themselves and discover their strengths, skills, abilities, qualities, values, and beliefs.

The Job Journey experience fills the needs of business and potential employees. It's a win-win program.
